I have read a lot of your post and your questions are all over the place from what size swing arm, to what valve springs, what fuel, how much nos. Besides doing a search and finding 99% of you answers there, you really need to decide what kind of engine you want to build!
A turbo DS vs a 730 what will win? Well win what? a straight line drag? a hill drag? a desert race?
No race fuel? Then your turbo boost will be so low it might defeat the purpose of spending all that money on the turbo.
Decide what type of motor you want to build, then talk to an engine builder that will build that type of engine. If you want turbo, talk to KMS, he will tell you exactly what fuel you should run, what clutch setup, piston, valve spring, swing arm etc! If you want a big bore, talk to HP research, TVI, or The Bomb.

How long's the hill.
If it is as short as Boxcar in Oregon I think a Big bore may be the best but, if you are twice as long as that. . . the turbo will win.
I get my tail handed to me at Sand Mt. when the Turbo's show up. To turn it into a race I would have to go with NOs to help out.
But, if I do that. . . need a longer swingarm and there goes the geometry I like.
I would think generally speaking for Oregon the big bore would be better because of the smaller dunes but, if you are more into drag racing go with the turbo.

with my 720 on the 25hp of nitrous i can't take the tvi 800 turbo, but if it was a stock bore machine with turbo the big bore would usually win. keep in mind there are always freak machines that just run really good. either way you would have a machine that you will enjoy at the oregon dunes. have you talked to chuck there in your area he has put together some good machines. oregon dune patrol can get you in contact with him.
