when does a guy know when its time to change gearing? say a guy had a stk ds and then put say a 720 kit in he is going to gain a lot more torque right.? just big bore nothing else. so his curve is the same on the dyno but just more. then how far up on gearing should he go?
confused?
well lets say if you had a stage 2 and on gas a 15-40 gearning works good right. So then he puts in alky. should he go up to a 16 tooth. or a 16-42 gearing. in sand.

The more torque your motor puts out the less gear you have to run. The only reason to run gears is to give the motor an advantage and keep it at perfect torque. The flatter the torque curve the better. The less gears you have to change the better since shifting takes time.
