I am considering getting one of these computers are they worth the time and effort of installing one?

Great option to have, but not really user friendly. You have to study the manual to get it to do what you want it to do. I love mine and will have one on every bike I own. They are also a great company and have warranty they stand behind. Great customer service. Id suggest it.

I've had one for a while now and to tell you the truth I almost never look at it. Its also difficult to read while riding.

I've got one on my bike and really like it. Yes, it does cover up some of the tach, but that doesn't really bother me. I know my bike well enough I hardly look at the tach. DSXBEAR is right, kinda hard to setup, instructions hard to follow. You have to enter your wheel size to get the speedometer to work right, and it's kinda guesswork. I used my GPS to measure how far I went and then did the math. The feature I like best though is the hourmeter, gotta keep up on the maintenance.. Oh yeah, I ordered the dashboard, 1 1/8" handlebar clamp, and handlebars from Rocky Mountain. Love the looks and feel.

I have one its nice for speed testing to see if you have an improvement after your adjustments.
It also has a lot of nice features.
But a GPS is nicer, for the same money.

You can mount it where ya want pretty much, mine were on the side of the handlebars, the lense got scratched when i went through mud and had no way to clean it off, and I snapped the mounting bracket when I rolled it one of many times. Other than that, i liked it. A trick for the lense scratching is to just put a piece of clear tape over it. When it gets dirty, simple tear it off and replace, or if it's clear enough to do, put a couple pieces on so its like tearaways.

I do like the computer, but will tell you this. If you own a '05 DS plan on buying a dremel tool. When you install the sensor into your hub, you have to grind your hub to get the angle right. They do not tell you this in the manual. Also mine did not come with a instruction manual. They are suppose to be sending me one, but if any of you could give me the fomula for setting up the speedo I would greatly appreciate it.

My trail tech is installed by the neutral and warning light. Rite in the center. Looks good there
