Default electric supercharger???

ok the guy just emailed me back.
These generate 4-7 PSI in a 3 " intake tract. Or they move 1200 CFM with 13.8 volts
i dont know anything about turbos for the bomb so can someone help me out and tell what kind of pressure a stock engine can take. thanks

hmmm 4-7 psi sounds like a lot for a little electric blower.... The other person selling those on ebay claims 1-2.5 psi or somthing similar to that (sounds a lot more reasonable)

I would think the DS could handle near 10 psi, but then again I have zero experience with boost on a ds (internals are strong, but boost will find the weak spots!)

Can these even be used with carb's? for some reason i was thinking they couldnt. (if you could bolt this to a carb, i would for sure be interested)

What about heat? compressing air creates heat thats why you have to run an intercooler, and it would have to be placed after the carb, because when pressure is added to the carb, it forces the fuel to stay in the carb bowel, therefore no fuel. EFI might also be required to compensate for the differing air fuel mixtures at different situations. I'm sure someone with turbo experience will be able to chime in on this

As for pressure, I think I remember up to 25 pounds on some DS's, so the potential is there...

25 psi? thats quite a bit without somthing giving. i could only imagine the ds totally stock on 25 psi.... almost makes me want to go pickup an 05 baja and slap the kms kit on there

That's probibly not stock either, but if you are gonna go through everything to put 25 lbs to it, you can do the mods to make it handle it

Someone should try this electric kit and get back to us...

lol well when i was searching SC's for my svt focus, i found the same things, so im considering trying it on both applications. (it wouldnt touch the ds until some boosted guys stick their head in and give us their dos pesos on the situation)

It seems to me that you would have to run some sort of reastat off of the throttle to change voltage so it isnt on full rpm at all times. You wouldnt want it running full speed at lower rpms or it would run really lean. Also if it wasnt on wouldnt in fact restrict air flow?
hmmm something to think about.
