I'm not sure what its called, all I know is I passed it last year. Now I'm hitting 1.5x the cost of the bike in extras.

I too need to step back and just let the bike sit for a while. I'm spending way more than I should. The really sad part is, I've spent all this money and I'm still slower than molasses.

Who has the worst addiction????

My vote for either THE BOM or Sandbomber. To many habits in the stable.

Count your lucky stars you only have one expensive hobby! Try riding quads, Scuba Diving , Collecting guns, Flying ( RC airplanes .. not enough money for the real thing) .... Besides if you didnt dump tons of cash into your DS , it would just end up into something else ....

I dont know about you guys but I could NEVER be without at least two hobbies/passions going at one time!!

Now you know why i sold the Craycraft 690 raptor, money pit and it's a fulltime job to be the fastest, and if you aint then some of these guys wont let you live it down, so know i jump on my stock YFZ and ride all damm day and just put gas and clean my filter..

I got burned out on it but it is a rush to be fast and beat people. I know i am not the fastest and give props to my little 450 when she is handing banshees there arss at Glamis this week. I only race in the stock class now which is more fun to me being the fastest...It was a hard decesion to sell the beast but it was a well worth the sale because i am happy riding a bike that is start and go, even though my raptor was a great bike it came to the point when it was a good trip if nothing broke or it ran strong all weekend....

I really had to take a step back and not get burnd out on this thing so i sold it and love to rip the dunes up on the new bike....Atleast i can say i had a fast bike at oe time in my life..

I think we could all help out the DS hi-rollers. Give their DSs their own name cause the are not in the same class as the DS650....Like SuperDS, or SteroidDS, or maybe just HighrollerDS, maybe then you guys wont feel so bad for dumping all the cash. I havnt sank much in my DS yet, but have built and raced many race cars, and sold them for pennies on the dollar. Most recent car by the end of the season it tripled in value without ever wrecking it, just stuff to go faster. Then sold it for 1,000 less than what i had in it at the start of the year. I guess it depends on what you want to do, I myself was tired of racing the car and enjoy time being spent with the quad and the motorcycle much more. I do still miss watching races and not driving in them but I needed a long break from it. Its not like I can never get back into it. Do what you need or want to spend your time and money on. Believe me I felt much better cutting my losses on the last car than trudging through another season in it, it was actually a relief instead of a dissapointment.

I don't know who holds the crown but I'll bet it's not sandbomber, I think we have to look at how much the person spent compared to income. I'm sure there are guys out there spending money that should have been used for there families needs. Sorry for the letdown sandbomber but you've got more in that motorhome than I've spent on my house
I've watched alot of guys with this progressive search for speed constantly rebuilding their bikes. That's alot of money down a hole.
Anyone reading this that thinks they are getting sucked into this trap, buy a clunker Ds and stick a Yamaha R1 motor into it. You will then have one of the fastest quads on the planet for about $6000 and should be able to get that back when you want to sell it, should you live that long
