Default Lectron - needle access?

For you guys running Lectron's have you found an easy way to access the single screw on the slide cover closest to the gas tank. It currently sits directly under the gas tank cover and I don't want to have to remove it every time I make an adjustment. I was thinking of cutting about a 3" half circle in the bottom of the gas tank cover directly over the carb.

I have never had that problem with the clearance. I have noticed on onther bikes that you have to take off the cover.
If I were you I would cut a hole on the tank cover if it isnt noticable.. I might have a longer boot from intake to carb that gives me enough clearance.

I replaced the screws with button head allens, and just use a ball end allen wrench to get it off.

I cut it and the seat covers it.

Yep, I just notched the plastic, and think of all the weight your shaving lol. It also allows the cable to stick up vertical for an easier pull.

I just loosen the carb up a bit and twist it counter clockwise.

I guess you guys are kinda lucky in having the stock tank, there will be no notching or cutting of the IMS tank for that type of access, you would be putting a hole right into the tank to do that. Oh well, I like having 5 gallons of gas though!

simple for me. I just don't put the third screw in. But then again, I only run half the nuts and bolts that came stock on my DS anyway (weight savings you know!).

Hey 222 how much weight did you save by removing half the bolts? What's your ds weigh now wet?
