Default i need help real bad.

ok boys here is the story:

i am rebuilding my bike. i am now to the step of doing the wiring. i put everything back in its place, i can't really mess up because there is a different plug for each wire. so when everything is put back(i even checked with my other bike to see if it was O.K.) i pushed the button and nothing happened. i jumped the solenoid and it turned over. but nothing else works. the lights, start button, neutral and temperature switch doesn't light at all.

so i figured out these possibilities:
1- i didn't grinded the paint on the frame to ground the motor. i grinded every other grounds on direct metal but the motor does not 'touch' to direct metal.
2-there is 2 or 3 wires around the battery that i never know where it goes. if somebody could tell me which one goes where, that would really help me.
3- i am a complete dumb a** and should send the bike to a mechanic.

i am open to any suggestions, i need to take the bike out of here by saturday...

I dont have a manual, but you could probably do some searching and find a wiring schematic to find where those wires go.
Do you know what color they are?

dont worry, i already have the wiring diagram and checked out everything, the wiring was working before i dismantled it, i dont see why it wouldnt work now. my best bet is that it only is a bad ground or 2wires that i switched.

anybody else??

Dead battery. Bad negative cable ground. Positive lead wire pinched. Check all those. And the grounds that are on paint may make a difference, but I don't see much of one, but worth a try.

Can we assume you checked the fuses (not trying to be a smart ***)? Always look for the obvious first!

the starter is gound thru the motor, run a gound directly to one of the mounting bolts on the starter and see if it starts

I would think that the bolts running through the motor into the frame would be grounded at the threads thus grounding the motor too?????????

need to grind the paint off at all grounding points. I am a union electrician trust me . Also would not hurt since you are going to be taking of the wires to check go to lowe's, home depot in the electrical section and get yourself some NOLOKS IT IS A CORRISION FIGHTER FOR ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS it will save you the trouble of having bad connection's down the line. it is a gray paste it comes in a little like toothpast tube or you can buy it in elmer glue type bottle's and since you will have it put it on your car or truck battery cable connections as well. If you have a continuity meter (for electrical trouble shooting that is a must) check it between the motor and your neg battery terminal with the neg wire connected i would also look at the wiring on turn key they might be backword's

Hmmm sounds like the primary ground is good... Find a home for the two wires and I bet you get her running. I also second the "check the fuses" suggestion.
