Default Exhaust question...

I noticed awhile back that my exhaust is bent in where it comes up next to the left side of the subframe, just before the silencer. I'm wondering if this bend was put in by the manufacturer(white bros), or if it's been crushed. There is a mounting tab on the subframe for either the fender, or possibley the heel guard, and it looks like the pipe may have been crushed up against it. The guy I got this bike from must have crashed, and broke the mounting tab on the silncer, as it's been rewelded. Now I'm wondering if this slip on is damaged, and is possibley robbing me of some power.
Does anybody have this bend on their slip on silencer?
Thanks for your help!!!
J.

Default Exhaust question...

Well...I used to run a White bros R4 slip on and until I dented it. There where NO dents in it. So I guess if your silencer is dented then it's not from the factory. Is it hurting your performance??? Maybe...but I would think that depends on how deep the dent / dents are. Take a pic and post it. It's kinda hard for anyone to tell unless they see how badly it's dented.

Default Exhaust question...

I dented a DG pipe on my 400ex, by bottoming out the shocks and it hit the brake caliper. I was not very happy with the pipes fit and finish anyway so i replaced it with FMF. The dent very well could reduce power but i dont think it would be noticable unless its a huge dent.

Thank's for the reply's, I appreciate it. I'm thinking that the pipe is damaged... the dent isn't on the silencer itself, but on the pipe as it snakes through the frame. It's a pretty good sized dent...as if the pipe had almost been folded against the subframe. If I can get a pic taken, and downloaded, I'll post it here ASAP.
Thank's again,
J.
