Titanium Sprocket
#1
With all the talk about aluminum sprockets to save lbs. off the rotating mass has anyone used the Titanium sprocket? They would definitely hold up better then any of the aluminum sprockets....

Sidewinder offers a titanium/chromoly sprocket and chain. it says in the middle of the add lifetime guarentee. I dont know if they are talking about the chain and sprocket or the free geering and tech info.

Does Sidewinder make that tri-metal sprocket for a DS 650? I've seen it advertised in dirt bike magazines, but did not know they made them for a DS. They are a tri-alloy sprocket with a tool steel outer ring that is very wear resistent, and have a combination of aluminum and titanium alloy that makes up the center of the sprocket. They do have a lifetime warranty when used with a Sidewinder titanium chain. I plan to get a set for my YZ 250 when my stock chain and sprocket wear out, because the stock chain on that bike stretches so fast you need to adjust it after each and every ride. I only need to adjust the chain on my DS about once a season, but still think the weight savings of a titanium drive chain and sprocket would be worth the cost on the DS. If anyone knows for sure if Sidewinder makes these for a DS please post a follow up. Thanks.
