Default Ds track rods bent

I bent my steering rods today, after a slight error of judgment.

I have burning gear and will straighten them tommorow , my question is have any of you found they are significantly weaker once they have been heated and straightend.

any metal is weaker when its heated. I would staighten it and try it before you buy a new one though...

I bent my left tie rod in a crash about a year ago. I straightened it in a press (no heat) and its still straight today. I'm sure it's not as strong as a new one but straighteneing will work.

Straightend it today it was at 90 degrees but it straightend out fine , But i Think i wil buy a new one as the gold anodised finished didnt like the heat , i have painted it with zinc primer but it looks odd compared to the other side, i would be interested to know what the price of this part is in the US, in case its a rip off here in the UK.

Dsjobber thanks for the offer i might take you up on it, but the shipping costs would probably be a little high in proportion to the cost of the part as i am in Scotland UK.

Just for you interest, I had some kinks in the rear fenders, they came out fine with a heat gun and a bit of hand pressure, good as new
