I was looking into getting some TBR Chromoly A-Arms and at a $650.00 price tag I want to make sure I get the correct size.
So I've seen guys use +1 and +2 and stock size A-arms, so what is the purpose of going +1 or +2 on the width?

And don't just say.... because we wanted to.....Larry!

 

Stock width on the DS is fine. +1 or 2 is to wide in my opinion. The DS is already wide stock.

 

I've seen where some guys have them as +1 & +2 or 0 and +1. Are they referring to the upper and lower being different?

 

Nope. A arms come in many differnt configurations depending on variables. First number is width, goin wider as a couple effects. it makes your quad more stable (Roll over resistance) and have longer suspension travel for a smoother ride. second number is the foreward or backward location. lengthening the quad or putting the wheels foreward would make the quad track better at high speeds, But have a tendancy to push in the corners. setting the front wheels back in theory will help the front end track thru the turns but possibly be not as good at highspeeds.

On a DS if you ride trails your already to wide [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] no need to be wider.

 

+0+1 is stock width and 1in. Forward. A plus one forward arm will transfer weight to the rear of the quad. If your not going forward with your arms and your stock lowers are in good shape all you really need is new adjustable uppers. I think ASR is the only one selling just uppers.

Do you need to replace the stock shocks or do they work without doing so?

 

You can use the stock shocks.
