Default swing arm bearing ???

I was changing a burst tire and tugged on my axel to check the axel bearings while i had it up.
And found a slight knocking noise, I turned out to be the left hand swing arm bearing, probably less than 1 mm of movment. but it still sucks this bike is only a year old and doesnt have that many hours on it it has also been greased every couple of rides.
Its an 04 with the allow swing arm, anyone else had problems ?

thanks for the replys

Any one know whats in there i checked my manual which is for a 2002 and it looks like is just bushes,
Or are there needle roller bearings?

i will check the tourqe, but i dont see how it being loose would alow play on the bush /bearing, Unless they are tapered ?

You were spot on.

The lock nut was still tight but the inner nut came up 3/4 of a turn easy before coming tight.
the play must have been the tube moving on the bolt.#

thanks for the help

They are tapered bearings. When installing them you have to set a preload torque then back it off and re-apply the torque. This is to set the bearing races in the carrier. Do not shortcut this step even if it seems redundant. Often people will skip this step and later the bearings loosen up.
