500 to spend, what to upgrade?
Since I have this fear of sticking the cdi back in... I guess that could be another option, but I dont see much of a gain coming out of that one. (ie...vortex or msd box)
Looks like a used tm is in the range of 200 or so, which is definitley a plus, im just worried I would never get the sucker setup right.

I think I would be more worried about getting a stock carb setup right after you put mods on your DS. The TM is used on many quads, Bikes, harleys....... so the carb is about as versitile as it gets. I am sure you could find help anywhere if you even needed help. Fitting was my only problem, and it turned out perfect. Mario had the carb ready to go for my DS.

Dsaholic has a 44 lectron for sale right now, with throttle and cable, they say it outperforms the tm45, I dont know but they say it does. He's bike runs well with it, no problems with it sticking and easy thumb pull. Just a thought. If I had that money, the carb would definitly be the choice, there is no bigger bang for the buck, I run a hv46, and love it. But I would agree it wouldnt be my first choice for trails. Jed

No. Its a smooth transition from idle. No stuck open, although I have never had that problem. He uses a HPD throttle housing and it has a big lever, but the moose is similar and its easy to push. The lectrons have a much easier push then the tm's, they have a lighter slide, I guess thats why some have problems with them sticking. I dont think there are a lot of the 44's out, but he's had it for years with no problems that I know of, but still pm him when you get time, its well worth it for that Kind of money, heck the throttle is a buck twenty five it self. Its like over 5 quid for that setup he's selling for 250.
