The biggest differenct is the pumper and the lack of a vacuum slide.
It takes standard Keihin jets.

Air box lid is on, havent tried running with it off yet? I had to cut off some of the outer cable to make it shorter, kinda hard to explain, i dont know if the 450r cable is long enough. Im going to find out if it is and ill go that route. Lets put it this way, i got the stock cable to work but dont know how long its going to last. I left the pumper hooked up, dont think it would work with out it? The jets are simple to get at, same as the needle, no more stripping out those little float bowl screws! Wish i knew somebody with a dyno, its gotta be way better than the stocker. PredFan-where can i get a HRC needle at?

 

Any dealer should be able to hook you up with one, maybe even service honda?

Hey, we should try and find a dyno and go together! Since your about an hour or so away from me, surely there is somthing within an hour of us. Dynojet's website said there were a couple close to me, but the phone numbers listed are dead, and they are not in the phone book.

 

Sparky, I purchased the HRC jet "kit" from servicehonda.com. It comes with a needle and 185MJ for $23. Part #16020-NLZ-651. Alot of people use the stock needle and say it is fine, but I wanted a richer needle.

 

Hey sparky have you tryed the stock honda throttle cable yet just wondering if it will work i plan on ordering one next week, How the throttle pull on that carb?

 

you can contact Terrycable and they will make any custom cable you need for around $30. all you tell them is what throttle housing (DS650 stocker) what carb, and how long based on stock length, like "stock length", or "1" longer than stock", or whatever.
friend of mine just had them make a custom cable to fit a stock raptor housing and TM45, stainless braided sleeve, $35.

yeah this is a old post but this is a good set up for the ds.im gonna go to a fcr eventually but since i had this carb laying around figured why not.Im using honda thumb throttle and cable..
