I made Choke Cherry last year in 3rd, but it is a hard hill to pull all the way in 3rd. Probably could have goon a bit faster if I had downshifted to 2nd.

I run a 15tooth front and a 43 on the back (had to modify the skid plate).

I think you need some good mods to make Choke in 3rd - I could not make it before I installed the Lectron
(Thanks Mr. HP)

It also depends on the sand conditions. The best time to try it is first thing in the morning when the hill is not too torn up. The wind comes up almost every night in St. A's and smooths everything out.

I love St. A's for that reason.

yes i'm lost as to what gearing to run on my ds. it will be the 730 motor currently with the magnum 23" haulers i have run the 14/40 up til now? hp reserch is going to dyno the motor and help me with jetting but the 23" tire sucks up the power, were used to riding at little sahara ok, and it has been wet almost every time there but no real big hills to climb? were going to little sahara utah first june 20-22 then saint anthonies june 23-26 we hope for dry weather and loose sand (or was that bad weather and loose woman?) well either way can't wait.

I pull choke in third 15-40 no nitrous, 4th with nitrous same gearing. I weigh a healthy 160 wet, soooo...........ya I aint much help. But if the sand is wet I sometimes do shift to second at the top, so I would say gear as low as you can to start with, if your 200 pounds, run a 14 front with a 40 rear unless the chain will take a 41, and run either size paddles. In Utah I would do the same for the face, but for the backside run one tooth taller. I pull the face in third with that same gearing, but it puts me in the middle of gears on the backside, so a 14, or 16 would be better there. Hope that helps some, Jed
