I have read posts in the past about if you are past 3 turns out you need the next bigger size idle jet well got mine good and running today and I started at 4 turns out turned it in half turn increments slow and it started to mis a little shut it off counted how many turns it took to seat it lightly which was 2 then turned it back to 4 turns then turned it out slowly in half turn increments till it missed a little then shut it off and turned it in til the needle was seated which was 7 turns so then i took 7 minus the 2 from the bottom and figured 5 turns divided by 2 which was 2 1/2 plus the 2 from the bottom it took to sputter = 4 1/2 turns from the lightly seated position it runs good now but my question is do i need to get the next bigger size idle jet to keep the turns down to 2 1/2 to 3? any advice thanks fellas

 

I was at 4 turns so I went with a 45 PILOT jet from the stock 40 and now I am at 2 3/4 turns out. It is not the starter jet it is the pilot jet just to confirm.

 

did it make a noticeable differance?

 

I had a little backfire on decel and it cleared it right up.
