I'm about to change my shifting fork in my DS650 2000 (stock) . The motor is all open up so what do you think it would be good to change or upgrade while it's open ?

Second question : my front sproket (also stock) need to be changed... what do you suggest me ?

You could do cams/piston while its all apart, that way if you decide to break it open later you dont have to pay for another gasket.

As far as gearing..what size rear tires do you run? Are you looking for more acceleration, or just to get a new sprocket (of the same teeth?)

If you have 22 inch rears 15 tooth front makes it about the same as the stock gearing (20 inch rears, with 16 tooth) Ron woods makes good sprockets, or you can go the cheap route and get them from rocky mountain atv for like 6-12 bucks. (this is what I do and have never had a sprocket go out on me yet)

 

While your replacing that shift fork, you might want to get the tranny gears back cut. Also go with the newer shift fork, you have the original design.

 

main crankshaft bushings have been upgraded for improved oil flow in the newer models, that would be worth changing IMO.

 

Also pull the oil pumps, make sure they are within specs and have no groves at all in the outer rotors. Or in the cases that they sit in. prolly a good time to change the seals also. Shifter, clutch arm, etc...
