Default Amsoil?

I have ran the Amsoil in 10-40 weight and would like a second opinion. I understand that the oil itself is top notch, but when I run it my tranny feels really notchy. I can run some of the less expensive oil's and the tranny feels alot less notchy. I am about to change my oil again and am not really sure if I want to run the Amsoil anymore. Where I live it is a little hard to find oil, so I have been having a local shop order it for me. I would really appreciate some input if anyone can offer it.

I run Amsoil 10-40 4 stroke mc oil in my ktm and dont have any shifting problems. I would try a few different oils and use the one that works best for you. I run belray gear oil in my honda 2 strokes because they shift better with it but will run torco gear oil in my sons wr because it shifts better with it. It is a little strange but I cant argue with what works.

One of my neighbors is an Amsoil dealer and I am going to start running it this dune season.

He suggested the 0w-40, which is the same weight as BRP synthetic.

Should I run that? What do you say W1ing? Seeing you live in the same area, huh?

Yeah that will work good. Thats what I just put in my last service. They were out of the 20 50. I just looked at the bottle its 0-40 with a yellow cap.

I'll give you a call before I buy anything. The 0w-40 cost more, so I was wondering what the difference is.

I'm glad you started this oil issue again. I read all the past threads and still confused. I can't find Mobile 1 MX4T anywhere. We're very limited out here in the desert, don't know why. Bomb dealer wants $13.50 a quart. I do prefer the full synthetic in this hell hole we ride in. I tried Castrol full synthetic without any clutch problems, but all the threads on that are making me nervous. Someone suggested the Mobile 1 for diesels and I'm not sure why. Put the good stuff in for your trip out here, you'll need it.

Thanks, but I think I'm just going to order a case of Amsoil. Seems to be the right thing. I'll be in hiding that weekend or visiting my daughter in Summerlin. You're a brave man if you're going on the lake. We used to when we first moved here, but we prefer the weekdays. I assume you've done this before or you better be at the launch ramp very early. Have fun.

Since your neighbor is an Amsoil dealer, can I buy a case from him? If so,PM me and I can send you my address or meet somewhere.

We stay at the Islander RV Park out on the island. Also my brother lives down there. He told me that all the locals actually leave town for the holiday weekends.

As far as my neighbor, he set me up with the company membership program. I don't think he actually has the stuff at his house. I just met him the other day. I just looked at his card and it says he is a direct jobber for US Synthetic oils.
