You ussally loose about 30% from the crank to the rear wheels by a cvt tranny. So that would give the Bomb around 44rwhp stock. The sp800 and BF were dynoed I believe around 34-36rwhp. They both have about 50-52 hp at the crank.

"If you're looking to translate that to pure speed, BRP claims the Outlander 800 has 28% more rear wheel speed (as measured by Matech Technologie Inc rear wheel dyno) than the Polaris, 25% more than the BruteForce, and 54% more than the King Quad." Taken from the Offroad article.

GE4x4, Thats what I was thinking too. based on the offroad article and the rear wheel dyno numbers I have from all my quads, I was thinking 43-46 rear wheel HP for the BRP 800. Based on the info in the articles I have read so far this new BRP is going to be the new top dog in the speed department maybe overall.

I am very interested in the bomb 800. I race my sp800 and so far it's been great. But the weight I know is holding me back even tho I took 40lbs off it. But whats really killing me is the 4.13 gal fuel tank. I barely and I mean barely make 4 laps on a tank, but if a 5th comes I have to stop and fuel. I'm the only one in the utility classes that has to fuel. This kills me. If I can get a quad like the bomb which on paper seems to have much more power then my 800 especially with a 46mm throttle body compared to my 40mm and 4 valves per cylinder and a 6.5 gal fuel tank and be over a 100lbs light and handle the same, I would be a very happy man. Yeh the looks aren't the greatest, but looks don't win races.

bombardier may be the youngest player in the atv game, but they have the means to build amazing machines. now we have reached 62 hp in a production quad. i can't wait to see the future monster quads and where this is gonna lead us. the 1000cc machines are not far...

can't wait to know what top speed this beast can reach...

Hope they get rid of that annoying whine that the 400 has.

Well a few years back Bombardier was in last plce in Snowmobiles, last place in watercrafts and jet boats, and out of nowhere when they had enough, they came out turned the industry upside down, now Ski-doo's and Sea Doo's the best and now they dominate both,

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see what has happened over the course of the past three years. Since the 2003 introduction of the Ski-Doo REV, Ski-Doo has taken the #1 position in the industry in terms of sales, and is now approaching 40% market share.

And within four years in the 90's Sea-Doo had eclipsed both Yamaha and Kawasaki in market share. Today, over the 70% personal watercraft sold in the United States and Canada are Sea-Doos.

.Is this the start of them dominating the ATV world? I mean they have the R&D, they make jet planes, subways, gromers, boat etc............... and Rotax is an amazing engine www Bombardier .com

With $15.8 billion US in revenue, thing are going to get interesting. This is great news, because good co. like Yamaha and Honda will get off there butt's and update there 4wheelers, they both update there Motocross bikes every year, and there ATV's get update once a decade!!!!!!

I'm gettin one of these....my two Bombs that I own right now are my favorite sport-util ever...I wouldn't trade them in for anything, that back seat of my 04' Max is so incredibly comfortable that it's insane...no other back seat is better, and in every DW Mag competition the bomb has won.
