DS Days 05- September 2-5th Sand Mountain Nevada
#51
If everyone that is 'talking' about going ends up going this will be one bitchen trip. I am going for sure so I am looking forward to the trip. I saw the Kentucky boys show up at Glamis earlier this year so I wouldn't be suprised if they ended up showing up in Nevada.
I'm looking forward to the group shot for this year, the past group shots of 20 or so DSs looked cool, but if we got 50+ DSs in the picture it would look even better.
Good to know that some of the familiar faces will be there, and I am sure some new faces as well.

Man I sure wish I could get to a DS days. I can only take one huge trip out west each year, and duning and bowling is the funnest part of owning a DS for me. Sand Mt. Nevada just doesn't have what the bigger dunes do, and it would be hard to drive near 30 hours one way and miss what the bigger dunes of Idaho and Utah have. I wish that DS Days rotated its location from year to year, maybe hit Sand Mt. Utah for a change. That's the longest climb of them all, where even if you blow the holeshot there is still plenty of time for a superior bike to reel it in. I'd love to see all some big bores, turbos, and nitromethane burners on the Fingers.

hey that sounds pretty good, how far from Glamis to Sand Mt. Nevada? I'll do a mapblast on it, maybe in the next couple of years I'll do just that, haven't been to Glamis yet. I have friends that have been there as well as utah and idaho, glamis doesn't have the humongous bowls of st. anthony's, but from what I here and see on video the sand is endless and rolling! I'd very much like to go there for sure.

Hightower,
If you fly out I'll see about bringing a second DS that you could ride around on. It isn't as quick as yours but the seat is just as good and it has never had a reptor style tranny failure.

I can't help with any Sand Mountain websites, but if you wanna run up the 395 and through bishop, you are welcome to caravan with our group. We'll likely be in Sandaholic's truck trying to pack it full to save on gas by splitting the bill.
