I´ve had my traxter xt for about 3 months now, I'd have to say it's an awesome machine. At the beggining I had backfiring problems wich somewhat have gone. Now my low range is slipping out! It works fine for a little while but then it starts to make a clanking noise like is slipping out and then is totally gone like in neutral. I move the lever back to high and then back to low again and it engages the low again but just for a little while again!! Can anyone give me a hint on what the problem can be??? I love the machine (BRUTE POWER!!) but with these problems I'm kind of starting to doubt the reliability of the quad!

I had the backfire problem with mine too when it was brand new - last fall. My dealer adjusted the carb and it has not done it since. I've never had the problem with it slipping out of low range - sounds like that is a dealer adjustment as well. So far I am 99% satisfied with mine.
I just had it to the dealer again to put a primer button on the carb for easier starting in cold weather so will see how that works. If it starts better with the primer then I'll probably be 100% satisfied. I have 600 miles on it so far and other than what I mentioned, it has been perfect.
Have you called the dealer about yours yet?
Good luck!

Yes, johnc has it, the dealer has to remove the right front fender inner shield, where he will find the offending loose linkage I am told, from there it is a very easy/simple fix.
You will love the Traxter I am sure, and yes the power is great. Try it against a Grizzly and you will laugh for weeks as I have.
