Default Why not to get the new 800 Bomb!

Just talked to my dealer and I am very dissapointed in 1 thing, the PRICE, Canadian for a 1 up XT will be 13.000.00 and for the 2 up XT 14.000.00 and he says the price won't drop that much from the MSRP, says later maybe 1000-2000 Max. Its an ATV not a car or truck here. Now there also raising the price BAR too, I found a place I can get a 800 Polaris EFI for 9800.00, big difference. I always said I'll never pay over 10 K for an ATV.
The only thing I can think of is Skidooing is dying slowly as we don't get more the 2 months of good winter if were lucky, so ATV's have taken over and now they know that, and ATV's do much more then play, so they think they can start charging ridiculas prices, if people don't buy them then they'll have to lower the price but if every idiot just says whatever well it will get totally out of control.
I don't know what that translates in US dollars but I know its still a tone of money! If they were smart they would price it just above or below a Yamaha Grizzly 660 or Polaris 800 EFI and they would kill the market but instead they have to be GREEDY, and I own a Bombardier Traxter XT right now but am upset about this.

That is a crapload of money - but keep in mind there are a couple of reasons these machines are getting more expensive.

1. Inflation - your dollar is worth less than it was a few years ago. When I was a kid a snickers bar at the grocery store was 33 cents, now they are about 50 or 60 cents USD. Nothing changed about that snickers bar that I know of.

2. Technology - this is new technology, not someone's recycled crap. It costs a lot of cash to develop something completely new.

3. Features - this ATV like many new cars are coming equipped with features that used to only be found on the luxury or deluxe models but now that stuff is standard equipment.

When you add it all up - the price just f'ing sucks I know, but the price will never go down. The best thing a guy can do is not buy one for retail sticker - which is what you'll pay to be one of the first to have that unit.

In 1990 a Ford F150 fully loaded was about $15,000 - now an F150 fully loaded is around $30,000 - inflation isn't double but we both new today's F150 and 1990's F150 are a hell of a lot different in features.

Also I wasn't happy about paying $7000 each for my DS650s - but I could have bought a Kawasai Mojave for $3500 at the time, so I had a choice.

I'm not trying to say you are wrong, but just keep in mind there is more than one reason why the price flat out sucks.

In United States Dollars...

Standard 800 - $8599 (same as 800 polaris)
XT or Max - 9399
Max XT - 10199

So a standard 800 is teh same money as the polaris 800 and it embarrasses the polaris 800

Yes BUT I can buy a new Polaris 800 EFI - $7681 with all rebates applied. I wonder what the actual sale price of the Outlander will be.

MSRP is only $7599 for a Brute Force 750, if I am not mistaken. As soon as I heard Polaris had set an MSRP of $8600 for the 800 I thought what a bunch of idiots. $1000 more than their chief competition; give me a break. Shame on Bomb for following Polaris' lead. I hope Kawi sells twice as many BFs as Polaris and Bomb sell 800s.

I'm not in the market for a big ute quad. If I was though, I couldn't see shelling out 10kplus for a quad. I agree, prices are getting out of hand.

The outlander 800 is alot more quad than the sp800 and brute force 750. Now I don't understand the 800 polaris retailing at that because it's not even close to worth it. The Outlander is worth every penny you have to pay. I completely embarrasses the sp800 and is a lot nicer of a quad than the brute. Just ride one when your local dealer gets one and you'll see what i mean. I'm sure you'll be able to get a good deal on the outlander 800, if you can get your hands on one.

We sell Snickers bars and all our candy bars for 55 cents and actually until about six months ago we were able to sell them for 50 cents. I have no doubt that the Bomb 800 is going to be a lot nicer quad than a BF750, but that doesn't mean it has to sell for a THOUSAND dollars more. A lot of people would argue that a King Quad is a nicer quad than a BF and it sells for $400 dollars LESS than a BF. It has the same features as the Bomb 800 (EFI, IRS), except for the extra cylinder. It even has one feature the Bomb 800 doesn't have, a true locking front differential. Is the Bomb 800 going to smoke a King Quad......absolutely! Should it cost $1400 more? Not in my opinion.
