Removing Carb

Removing Carb
piece of cake.
Disconnect all tubes and hoses and fuel line. Take the little throttle cover off. You may need some needle nose vise-grips for those little, soft screws. Be sure not to loose the little rubber gasket.
Relieve some throttle pressure with your finger and take your needle nose pliers to take out that little brass holder.
Then unscrew the throttle cable and pull carb out from left side.
Hope this helps and that I didn't leave anything out.

Once you get the carb off you'll need a set of small needle nose pliers to remove the factory float cover screws. They will strip if you try to use a screwdriver. Replace the stock screws with a set of stainless hex screws. You will NOT need to remove the carb for future jetting changes.

If you have a ds650, and want to just change main jets, or adjust the needle, the carb doesn't need to be removed. This makes tuning the ds a dream. The allen head screws are a great upgrade, and time saver.
