Default Outlander 400

I was planning to get either a King Quad or Grizzly. I can't seem to get a decent deal on the King Quad or the Grizzly at a nearby dealer. I took a look at the Outlander 400 and really liked it. The majority of my riding will be on mountain trails and rolling hill type country. There is the possibility of adding a snowplow or pulling an elk if I get lucky. What will I miss out on with the smaller ATV? If I ride with friends who have larger ATVs, like the Grizzly, will I have problems keeping up or riding the same trails. Where I ride there is seldom mud, but there will be the possibility of rocky trails and creek crossings. Let me know how you think the smaller atv would stack up against the larger ones.

Buy the Outlander, you will keep up, if not pass your friends. The quad package BRP put together for the 400 Outlander is outstanding !!!

I have the Outlander XT Max and ride my wife with me up some rough, rocky, and steep trails. I weigh 350#s and she weighs 200#s. The Outty has no problem keeping up. I ride with some guys who have Polaris 800s, the only time they can get away from me is when we are really smooth stuff, like riding down the highway. (we are street legal)

The Outty will only do about 55 mph. It is a perfect trail bike. If you want to go faster, but a DS650, or wait for the Outty 800 EFI.

I have an o4 outlander and like it a lot. It is nimble on the trail and has a lot of mid range snap. You should be able to keep up on the trails because of the superior handling. If you are on a road or a field it will not be as fast. Mine will go abt 53mph on the flatoad. I ride with my friend who has a 700 prarie and it would probably go near 70mph on the road however he dosen't ride that fast. I have driven his machine and it has great takeoff but I couldn't wait to get back on my machine as I much prefer the ride. The new 800 outlander sounds good but will waite a bit before buying one to see if any problems develope.
