Squeaky Rear Shock???
#1
I have a question to ask because this one has me stumped. I have a '05 Ds that I have had for 8 months. About a month ago I started hearing a loud sqeak in the rear shock, so I lubed the crap out of it and it went away for a couple of weeks. Well for the last couple of weeks it has been "Very" loud. It only squeaks when it gets riden fora while, I think when it gets hot. I have tried what I know to fix it, but it is not working. Could I have a bad shock already? The bike has not been riden hard, and I cannot believe that the shock is already having to be sent in to be reworked. Please if you have any advise let me know, because I am truely lost on this one.
Thank you,
Thank you,

I have a large lag bolt in one of the beams in my garage. . . that's connected to a tie-down strap that I hook to the rear grab bar.
Basically suspend the back of the quad. . .
Remove the upper shock mount and put some grease on it. That's where your squeek is coming from.

Both of my 04' DS's have had the squeky rear shock you describe. As DuneMe recommended remove the top shock mount and grease it up really good. I have also found that if you try to torque down the upper shock mount too tight it will still squeak even after greasing.

I had the same problem with mine, just do as directed...that should eleviate that terrible squeak.

I greased my squeaky rear shock last night for the 2nd time. I added two o-rings one on each side. I hope this will cut down on some of the moisture that gets in there and make the grease last a little longer.
