Is it possible to make your DS rev out higher with out a CDI box ? My bike ran great with the CDI box but I had problems due to the CDI advancing the timing. Is there any way of making my 04 DS Baja X rev out more ? Thanks, D

 

There are aftermarket CDI's that allow for higher rev limits and some that have no limit at all.

 

I had a procom CDI box on my bike but because it advances your timing it made my X backfire when starting( once in a while) causing a bent gear tooth and replacment of the sprag clutch. I went back to stock not wanting to chance having the problem again. Is there a CDI that does not advance the timing causing the problem I had ? Thanks. D

 

I was told that the sprag clutch is a notorious problem with the DS. I use a Big Gun CDI which is made by Procomm to Big Gun's specifications. There are two sides to every coin and as of yet I never had a problem with my CDI.....
