I know they have been talking about it, but it seems on big weekends people manage to park on it. A few do anyhow. If you don't already have a spot reserved it may be tough going just depending on how the turnout is and when you are arriving!

Yes, it is true! There is no longer camping alog the north road.

yea, last time we were out there it was cabled off, pretty screwed up, holds at least 400 or so bikes,riders, and set-ups.

Wonder where they expect the overflow to go now ?

I think it gets out of hand and not enough park rangers to keep it under control, so they just choose to shut it down, lot of gate $ lost, but I guess as long as the park is full they still make a killing.

XR650, not sure that is the reason. The real reason is the erosion on each side of the road. Look at the drop off on either side and the damage to the road edges. That is the real reaon they shut it down.
I think they want the overflow to go into town. This is a great idea except that they shut the road down ad dark!! Go figure!! Stupid!!
