So i checked bombardieres website and haven't seen any changes really to the 650, so what do you thinks going to happen? with all of the comotion with suzuki and yamahas new quads and all the manufactureres making changes to make them better, will the ds be left in the dust?

 

Ah the ds wont be left in the dust...bombardier hasnt done anything to it..they actually even took the other model away and now there is only the dsx package left. In my opinion the ds is still the best machine for what the ds was made for...cross country races and cruising down roads at very good top speeds, no other quad compares for the comfort of the ds. Sure there will be lil zippy 450s runnin around it but get the 450s on a road or go cross country...ide sure rather be on a ds than anything else. The main competition for the ds was the raptor, yamaha now upgraded it and it should be faster than the ds for both take off and top speed..stock for stock, but i really dont think that the new raptor will have the reliability and comfort as the ds. Look at the first year for the 660 raptor...lets just wait and see what problems the new raptor has with efi...might not have any but if they are anything like yamahas first raptor there will be problems.

 

I would like to see bombardier produce a 650 fuel injected with a turbo. God only if it would come stock like that it would be so sweet. Im sure it would raise the price up to about 10,000 but when you have 12,000 invested in an 03 baja the 10 grand sounds like a great deal. With the purchase price of my bike and all my little goodies im pushing about 12gs. thats not including all the trials of mixing and matching of different manufacture parts. I would not trade my baja for anything. If bomb comes out with something like this i hope its in a couple of years becouse my old lady would kill me if i bought a fourth. Bomb has something up there sleave but im not quite sure what.

 

Makes you wonder why they narrowed it down to just one model for the DS650. Cut backs or could they be making room for a new sport quad?
