I called Larry a couple months ago....Th DS was down with a clutch basket problem....and he was riding his 400EX that weekend...where ever they were going..Non-Dunes.....havn't talked to him since....be good if he could make it to DS Days.

Anyone ever try putting them on a surface grinder? If I need to reshim thats what I am gonna try first. They will need to be thinner correct? I have my cbr600f2 head off right now going through the head before I install it on the ds, so I will measure those to see if they are the same od as well. Wait I just remembered those are shim under,LOL.

 

OK now you got me thinking again......I smell smoke! do the KLR use teh same valve springs as a DS?? was asking, there might be lower cost way of finding Shim under Buckets for the DS?

 

Dont think the klr springs will work--I think you have to get your under bucket kit from web (or at least a spring/bucket kit for the DS). About $400 with a shim kit. I just got one and I like it. Ive always had shim under, But with stage 2 it was shim over. With that much money into the motor you might want to play it safe. Ive seen a motor grenade with shim under and the shims didnt scatter everywhere. I think the kit on ondunes was less expensive than what I paid by far. I would have ordered that one but I needed it all overnighted.
