I think they were Woods oversize valves, I don't know for sure cause they were in the bike when I bought it. One of the intakes let go, its in 3 pieces now. It looks like the stem broke just below the keeper, went down into the piston which knocked the head off, mashed it around the combustion chamber a few times putting a big gouge from the stem stub next to the inner spark plug hole. A lot of debris messing up the other valves. I don't think the head can be salvaged[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

 

Well thats not good. I was gonna say, if the head is ok, its simply a matter of valves. Can you get any pictures of the head so we can take a look at the inside?

 

I'll try, but I can tell you now it aint pretty.

surely the head divits can be filled with weld and machined, and the plug hole retapped. if not then that really sucks bad. I feel your pain man.

 

crazy ain't it[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] thats what took my 760 down had the wrong valve springs in the head and to the cams were to big, the valve would slap hard under the load or high rpm's and the weakest leak would snap!! thats why i have a 730 now instead of a 760 (all i could salvage was the crank and rod from the pami 760) how does it go again? want to go fast ? how much money do you have[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] get er' done by the end of october were coming back down to little sahara oklahoma.

I know its not as fast but it does something yours doesn't--- run. that sucks crazy...but i knew that's what it was as soon as we lifted the front tires and heard that rattle....that's why i'm going back to a stock bore cylinder and sticking with stock cams and have a REV LIMITER..lolol....you'll have her fixed before you know it.
