I guess in short, I think I compare my bike to a DS more than anything else.

That's kinda what I thought but, I am partial so. . . thought an impartial view would be good.
I'ld like to see that thing run one of these days.
Not trying to bash at all but, it is amazing that a garage mechanic could do what Honda has been unable to do.
Then again, "Service Honda" is a separate company that has been putting 250 2-stroke engines in Honda 400EX frames for years. . . how long will it be before someone steps up and starts building a custom frame with either Bomb or Yamaha plastic / A-arms / swingarm / etc. and a Streetbike engine in the chassis? Hmmmm
If you could make the A-arms / shocks / swingarm / plastic / headlight / etc. of a DS work and just build a frame and a streetbike engine inside it. . . How many of us would line up to buy that set-up? Offer light / drag frames or desert racing frames fully gussetted.

A good while back I was kicking some butt at LA Dunes and a Warrior pulls up beside me. Im thinking no way but when the race started I was following it across the sand. I finally got a look and didnt feel so bad. He was a nice guy and said I ran him better than any other DS to date. We have talked on the phone a few times but have not ridden together since. Im a little faster and from what Ive heard so is he. We will line up again at Sand Fest and gang out. Hes a good guy and welcome in our forum anytime.

Thanks for the invite. I would love to come out to meet and greet everyone face to face. Sit around and share knowledge and stories! I've never been to the dunes, well sorta. Theres a place outside bonham with a little sand.

You are about 6hrs away from kermit dunes in west texas, 6hrs away from La dunes south esat & 6 hrs away from little sierra okl north west. These are approx. times & directions. Dune riding is better @ kermit. Little Sierra okl is better for the big event party time & racing. La dunes is small but is a good place to meet up with forums for a day ride or racing. JMO
I almost forgot that there is some good sand drag racing & riding in sicily island about 5hrs east in la. I think sicily island has something going on in Oct.
