What are very good cams for the DS650...my freind is very close to getting them, and he wants to know which are the best for the DS. Thanks.

Rick.

What type of riding does he do? Also does he have any other mods or plan on future mods? It all makes a difference in choice of cams.

Well, he does some trail riding but some times we ride on a wide open area. He has an Hmf slip on and a k&n air filter and besides the cam i don't think he has any future mods in store thanx

There are allot of different cams depending on his riding and modifications he has or will have.
HR-1 or 2's or 3's are good. You may want to look at the Ron woods racing cams as well or the Web cams....

Good bang for the buck are Web cams. I have the 110's in mine, it woke it up pretty good without loseing lowend. and did I mention they're a lt less money. The HR's and woods are probably a little better from a raceing stand point , but if you don't race save some coin.

Tim has a good point. My HR3's cost me roughly $740 including the shim under spring kit...
Keep in mind when you start increasing power and RPM you Will also have to upgrade the valve springs.
