I am picking up a 05 650X MON. How many hrs do I need on the motor before doing any mods? Also what mods to do to out run stock or slightly moded 450 yzf? My buddies KFX out ran a stock 450 yzf yesterday and I cant let him beat me. Let me know if I am on the right track. I ordered K&N jet kit, K&N air filter, Big gun CDI, and Big gun complete exauhst. I was also reading on here i might want to do some gearing and change tire size. Thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds like your on the right track. You probably dont need the CDI with your current mods. Drop a tooth on your counter spocket. Removing the airbox lid helps (install outerwear over filter). Be sure to jet accordingly. You might also consider a review mirror on the bars. That way you dont feel like your riding alone[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] Man dont you just love beatin up on KFX and 450's
