Default NOS riders check in

Thought that I would start this post in order to get a handle on the NOS setups that are out there and running.

This isn't so much of a "which to you like better - Boon or a wet system" it's intended to be more of a "if you're running a wet system, what seems to be working for you".

If you will please give us what type of system you have put together, components used, and a good mental pic (unless you have pics on your page). Then, it would be great to hear what jets you are running, wether or not you are using a blanket (what kind of blanket), and some of the issues you're having, if any.

I'll start.

Pics of the system are on my page, and yes, it's pretty stealthy. I run a barrel pump from NOS and it's pulling fuel from a gutted stock petcock. I run the smaller NOS solenoids. The system is button activated and I also run a fuel pressure guage along with a master arming switch.

What I've found is that the suggested 4 size differential is not really accurate for my needs. I think that my system is so closely put together, the pump makes fuel very quick. What I mean is that there is so little travel between fuel and nozzle that I've had to close the gap between jets. Is it working great..... NO. Seems that I suffer from not having enough pressure which makes the tuning of the system somewhat of a thrill ride.

Right now I'm at:
NOS jet = 27
Fuel Jet = 28

I'm looking for a blanket right now, and wondering where everyone else is at.

Hope we get some good posts.

What about the heat patches? Probably not practical I agree. But they did work one day for me when it was cooler than normal( good Idea mike). As you probably know I got lucky with my bottle position getting heat from the motor.

I also noticed that the nos jetting IMO has alot to do with what rpm your hitting the button at. The higher rpms your running the juice the fatter on the gas jet you can go/get away with. if your juicing Under load youll want to go leaner. Your weight is causing more load therefore needing a leaner gap between nos jets than most. I think you should gear your bike taller and not have to shift so much. 16-40 maybe.

Feel ya playa...

I've worked the other gearing into the mix, but the trade off, or lack there of while doing general duning just isn't worth it. That said, I didn't notice a difference when I went to my 16/40.

I really think that I have to stabalize the bottle pressure first, then tune, then work out the optimum gearing. Right now, I Rich out the bike - choke it and then have to back out. The patches didn't work for me, but then again, your bottle placement is ideal for In-Season riding. It's always warm behind the motor. My bottle is in front and catching all the cold air. The patches just didn't work.

A blanket is the way to go, but of course it's a $150 gamble.
