Default Bombardier's fatal flaw???

Thought we were really onto something here, but maybe not. Dunerider650 and I share the same model number... model #7995..... and we both suffered shattered top rings. One other guy has the model # 7718.

Dunerider650 and I have '04 Baja X's, and the other guy has an '03 baja. We are working on finding out the information on 2 more DS's that have had the same thing happen, if it's an X with the same model number or a Baja with 7718, Thats enough to convince me. Anyone else who shares these numbers, It may be worth the check, ya never know. I'll keep everyone posted.

Default Bombardier's fatal flaw???

just found out the other model number off a baja x close to me... the guy says its.........
model # 7995
date 07/2003
this is the exact same model number and date produced as me.

So thats three baja x's all made within the same two months with the same model number that had all of there top rings break. And another 2003 ds650 baja with the model number 7718 with the same problem............. wonder how many more are going to show up and if they are all going to stay in Alberta......

Default Bombardier's fatal flaw???----interesting UPDATE

The Series III Ski-Doo (Rotax) engines have (had) problems with the rings flaking, causing compression loss. 600HO seems to have the most trouble, although the 700, 800 and 800HO have had problems as well. Rumor is a new type of ring went into the '05 engines, I hope so, I bought a new '05 MXZ 800HO.
