Bombardier's fatal flaw???----interesting UPDATE
#42
Well mine is model 7995 and it seems to be alright, and it has had 50 plus pounds of n20 ran through it. I am tearing it apart soon so I guess I will know for sure then....

The older models all seem to be fine and have been known for the bullet proof engine. It is the newer models such as late 03's and 04s that have this problem, not sure about the 05 and 06 models.

It is the same motor...it was something wrong with that certain assembly line of motors #7995 they had a bad ring batch or something.

Oh great......mine is a 7995 8/03. Just a few months ago I noticed after it sat for a day or two, when I start it up I see a puff of smoke out the pipe. Then it clears right up and runs great! Now I am stressed out, this sucks.

Well assuming I can pick a damn carb (honestly dont like the TM or the HV I can pull the heaviest clutch springs in no problem, but my little thumb is a stickler when it comes throttle opening time, and I dont much care for twists) I will be opening mine up (late 03, not sure on exact model number or build date) to see if I have any issues (and probably swap piston/cams) I keep dumping oil out the breather, and this is the only valid solution I see to why im having the problems.

Everyone needs to let BRP know, thats what Randall had to say about it. Hope thats ok Randall. The more owners with that same model really is important for me and other people that no longer have a warranty and will have to rely on a recall.
