Mystery HPR bike
#21
Hey guys it was not me. i just recieved all my stuff wednesday The only thing i have been riding is my workers a$$es trying to get this harvest over. I wished i could have joined you guys but now is the time to make the money so i can buy more toys. Im having the shop put my bike back together becouse i dont have the time.. Im gonna hold off on the nitrous for a couple weeks to see how the valve guides are gonna act this time. There is no mistaken me, 6 foot 3 inch 305 pounds big old white boy with a shaved head. . Hey scatter what filter did you go with when you installed your kit? I hope the ace plus 4 swingarm is long enough to handal the 730 on nitrous . The shop said it should be together by wednesday, if they dont get swamped.

2big, Man we missed you at Sand Mt. it was a total blast. Im running the k&N now cause you cant run the Boondocker on the no toil. The ace arm was just about right. Not too long to carry the front through the whoops. It worked excellent. What pipe are you going to run?

been following this post for a couple of days now and I sure like what I'm seeing. Good to hear the the HPR stuff is rippen, and that the sleds are that fast.
I'd like to see some of these bikes at Dumont sometime. Randal, when are you and Eric coming out this way?
You guys set the date and I'll bring the BBQ.
Sounds like you guys might be able to give the drag banshies a run. Only thing out here at Dumont is that you better know how to handle the whoops and be able to shift in the middle. You'll get tossed if you're not careful. Start of the season isn't bad, but the end of the season gets a little wicked.
That's right... I'm calling you flat-landers out!!!!

I never ran that guy (the "A-hole"). Never saw Scott (West Coast ATV) that weekend either so, don't know if it was him on the bike or not. I doubt it was him personally because Scott isn't like that at all. I think I pulled up at the hill and remember someone (Jed??) saying an Orange Baja was fast but, If I remember right the guy had a helmet on so, couldn't make out the face?? I could be wrong.
Guess I should have run the hill a bit more. Oh, well. Jed took me when we raced once or twice. Should have lined up against him more. I would have liked to see how I was doing when I got things dialed in a little better (low tire pressure)(no excuses though) would have been fun to race. I think he (on the funny gas) had me by a couple mph (all engine) regardless.
Sounds like Jed was faster than the A-hole guy???(Is that right Jed?)
One thing for sure, even if I was the fastest of the weekend (and I wasn't) I sure wouldn't sit on here and tell anyone I was king of the hill until someone prooved otherwise. I know Jeff and I'm not that interested in eating his roost
From what I saw, the builds that worked that weekend:
Nitrous, Nitrous, Nitrous - Pick a build and you could find Nitrous on it and the Nitrous made the bikes runners.
The drag Ron Wood Pipes are obnixously loud but, they really seem to offer impressive gains.
Turbos had a tough time catching.
The Pami's ran strong - I don't think any Nitrous Pami's were there.
HPR pulled strong - I can't remember where they were in relation to others - honestly didn't pay that much attention to who had what in their bike. I know Sandaholic had the 730 but, I think he and I had more fun dunin' than shooting the hill.
The turbo's pulled hard - their top speed near the top of the hill must have been impressive because they were reeling people in.
From what I saw last weekend, if I were looking to add more power I would add Nitrous and the Ron Wood in-frame Drag Pipe.
Cool thing is the weekend wasn't about one builder vs. another. Even TVI and On Dunes hung around all weekend at camp and never made any battles. I really was impressed with how everyone kept their egos out of the weekend, I spoke to Jeff a couple day's ago and actually commented on that point specifically.

I've always felt this event was (and should continue to be) more about getting together than ego wars. Thats true from the corporate, to the rider standpoint. Sure, we all enjoyed watching the fast ones go up the hill. And I enjoyed racing my 460 up too. But it shouldn't overshadow what I think the main purpose is, actually getting together. I mean where else can you find anybody willing to help anybody else out with thier quad. Where else can you find people, whom you have never (or hardly ever) met in person before, sharing a beer and chicken wings over a fire? Some of us had NOS, but it was not a nitrous exclusive club, not a PAMI club, and not a TVI club. It was DS riders event (and a few of us didnt even have one of those). The builders got to answer questions and even show some stuff, but it wasn't, and shouldn't be a paid infomercial. Afterall, like I told Jed on Saturday, even the commercial guys need a break from work once in a while. I dont think thats too much to ask.
Who knows what the event will turn into over the years. Maybe it will be more competitive, maybe more commercial. I dont know if I would like that as much. But I'm only one voice. The event will probably change, I just hope it doesnt change too much. If so, I'm gonna have to stop drinking at these so I dont come off as unprofessional. Otherwise I guess I'll have to wear dark sunglasses and a Yamaha T-Shirt, and go by some other name and show up in something other than the Dunewagon.
Time for bed....

Good post Duneme. The mean guy was on a black Ds though. The Orange Ds was the 720, well there were a few of the Orange ones so..........?
Jeff is in the same situation as Glenn, couldof, shouldof, wouldof, but didnt, so they no longer count! Until next year that is!

The turbo raptor claimed he "destroyed the field at Sand Mountain last weekend" on another forum.
Jed and scatterbrain must have been throwing so much sand that he couldnt see your bikes in front of him!!!

I never saw him get beat. I could get him to about half hill then he went by like I was backing up. When I get my pipe and tires lined out and up the nitrous. It will be closer maybe. I know he tore it up on the Banshee side. In fact builders were pulling bikes off the hill when he was running it. It will be interesting to see if the strokers can maintain the gap at the launch. The turbo 450 he had was also real fast. Should make for some good racing at FSW.
