Default tm45 accelarator pump removal

the guys a ron wood told me that if the throttle spring is to stiff I can remove the accelerator pump, which I did about 3 years ago the bike doesnt have that instant throttle response like it used to,you have to roll the throttle on,it seems fine for trail riding, and it tops out at 72mph with 22" rears and a 1 tooth smaller front sprocket,am I missing out on some extra power? or should I just leave it as is?

It won't effect your top speed at all. Just get rid of the stumble when you wack it open.

I have never ran w/ out the pump but I have w/ the stiff throttle. I think you are missing out on down low and mid range punch. put the pump in and you prob .already got the softer return spring in , take that spring and twist it to make it tighter. test it and you might need to twist it to your liking. you want to make sure the return spring is overcoming the pump spring. if you have any questions just ask. Hightower is the pro but I learned it from him.
