Direct mount filter?
#1
I am not sure what way would be best to go with on the filters. Direct mount vs the air box. My thoughts would be the direct mount would get much dirtier, much faster. Anyone have some big pros and cons to it???

They say the airtube produces more power then a direct mount filter. For stock carb you want the box with the lid on. I am rumming an aftermarket carb with the airbox eliminated, and a custom mount for the airtube and filter.

Thanks for the input JMAC. Not alot of action on the forum today, everyone must be out riding already or something. Wish I was, and not stuck at work.

jmac's is right. it would seem u would get more air without the snorkel but the dyno has proven time after time that u lose velocity when u take the snorkal off and a quite abit of torque.. i dont think the hp number is effeected as bad as the torque number , but it is lower. mine dynos higher with the snorkal tube and filter without an air box..hope this helps...

I want one. I was ready to install my Lectron HV46 on my newly acquired Stage III bike. However it has a direct filter mount. I still have the snorkle from my old DS but I just don't want it dangling there. I guess I will have to fab one or find someone to make one for me.
Jmac got any pics of yours? Would any cha-ching entince you to make another?
