Default I need some answers from you 400 outlander owners

Hey guys. My father is extremely interested in an Outlander 400 but he is being hesitant because he is worried about how hard it is on fuel. He currently drives a Honda 300. I guess if you guys could let me know how hard the 400 is on fuel and maybe compare it to another machine that you are familiar with, I would relay the message to him and hopefully he'll get one (and I can try it out ).

Thanks!

no way in hell can you get 40 miles a gallon- that means a 200 mile range on a tank of gas- LOL
it will go thru more gas than the 300 but its no gas hog, i would say about 65 miles on a full tank

I dunno why the big deal with the fuel mileage. Him and his buddies are constantly slamming each other's rides and a lot of it has to do with fuel mileage, it's all in good fun for them though. Bunch of cheap bums I guess . I moved from an '86 Big Red 250 to a Banshee so I traded in fuel economy for a lot more power, which was ok with me. Probably the best way to bring it to perspective for him is to compare it to a Polaris 500 H.O. because a few of his buddies have these, and one has a 500 Quest.

Thanks again.

I have the 2 up version of the outlander. never really figured out the milage but we can run an entire weekend on a tank of fuel. I would guess around 80 miles a tank.

On my second tank of gas I went 125 miles on my 2004 outy. I did it to see how how far I could really push it to. That was all different kinds of riding from W.O.T to putsing around. pretty good I thought.

I told him about what you guys have been saying and he seems surprizingly impressed. He can't really believe that it does that good for fuel mileage. He's been looking at the Outlander for a month or more now. He's even gone in and looked at them 3 or 4 times now. Hopefully the fuel mileage thing will help sway him into buying one because I can tell that he really really wants it.

I've made several 75+ mile round trips on my Outlander Max XT with my wife on the back. One way was uphill and the other way was downhill. Some sectios were really steep and the engine was working hard both ways.

If he gets an Outlander 400, he WON'T regret it!!!!
