Eddie on a DS!! For the Maiden fans....

Sabbath, Ozzy, Maiden, Priest, Queensryche, Rush, Triumph, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Nugent, you name it I've seen them all numerous times each.
I love that whole list as well as a bunch of others. I heard about the Sharon/Maiden war on Maxim radio (sirius channel 108) and I couldnt beleive it. But then again if you have ever watched the episode of the Osbournes when they are fighting with their neighbors then you can beleive it.
Last time I seen maiden was when they were touring with G&R . Someone threw a beer bottle and hit Axle on the chest and he told the crowd to F-off and and walked off the stage, concert over. The guy that threw the bottle got a seriously bad beating from a bunch of the people in the crowd. That was worth the price of admission right there.
IMHO the best bands live in order are: Kiss, Metalica, Priest, Queensryche, and Maiden. All are in a league of their own!

awesome guys, I too have seen every band mentioned, and many numerous times. I've seen Maiden many times, and some of them recent. They are still producing albums, and their last two albums are some of the best work ever done. As is Bruce's latest solo album, probably the best album of this entire year ni the metal arena.
Maiden made history a few years ago in Rio - the Rockin' in Rio festival played to the largest metal crowd in history. They aren't the biggest metal band in North America, but they are certainly at or near the top of the World list.
Hey Thanks for the whole story aceisback, I hadn't heard it, and now that I have I totally understand.
I will definitely be working on Dio on the mini - awesome idea! I saw Maiden a coupe years ago, Motorhead and then Dio opened for them, Dio STILL rocks out hard core man!

Why do people keep saying run to the hills? That pic is from the Trooper. It would be cool to do the same with some of their other pics, like somewhere in time. I saw Maiden a bunch of times (sat near speakers during one of them and ears hurt for 2 days). I also worked concert security for 10 years and saw all the bands mentioned. Ozzy was good, saw him like 4 times, even with Zakk Wylde (Black label society- another good band). Gene Simmons from Kiss was the most laid back of any of them. Ya, Queensryche was good but very stuck up (singer- forget his name). But even they werent nearly as bad as some other performers (I have all kinds of backstage stories). Old Metallica was good, concerts were crazy. Best newer bands are Disturbed, Staind and Audioslave.

yes indeed that pic is the Trooper, but I think people just recognize Run the the Hills because its about the only Maiden song ever played on american radio back in the day when everybody was still afraid.
There will be more to come...

speaking of Maiden, I just realized that your Avatar, Hightower, is from the Powerslave album. That was the first Maiden song I learned to play on guitar. They certainly didnt get alot of airplay here in the US but could sell out a big stadium. I think I stopped listening to them, or at least their newer stuff, after the Fear of the Dark album. Maiden without Bruce wasnt the same. I had his pic on my high school locker. Man I feel old.

WOW thats awesome. Glad to see some other rockers out there. I play in a band called you got it Mr Meaner. Thats how my forums name came about. Go to mrmeaner.com and check it out we do some good music. We are playing the motorcross pro challenge in Tyler Tx on Halloween. Some big names in motorcross and freestyle show every year. Pastrana, Windham, Damoot, Mike Bown, Rynard, Metzgers, Caruthers and on and on. Mr Meaner rocks the freestyle contest while they are flying over. Ill try to post some pics this year. I love Maiden, Ozzy, Preist, Rush etc. We do alot of hair band stuff from the 80s but we try to do a little of it all. GOOD STUFF!

hey that's awesome MrMeaner! I play guitar too, but not in a band, except a garage band back in the day...
LowRecoil you really need to buy the new Maidens. I'm with you on the post-fear of the dark. but when Bruce came back two albums ago it was all for the better, and the latest two albums - Brave New World and Dance of Death are two of their best. Damn near Seventh Son quality. you really need to grab Brave New World, the song Nomad brings Maiden's guitar work straight back to the old days. There's just things 3 guitars can do that just two cannot touch. Something today's bands have let die man - good guitar work. Quality solos and long ripping interludes are hard to come by anymore. All this talk makes me wanna plug in the vintage Les Paul!
powerslave indeed - nothing like Eddie's face on a sphinx! I think my next graphics project will be a mummy eddie on a ds climbing a pyramid!
