New Outlander lacks in a few areas...

Pastor,
Nothing wrong with voicing your opinions, after all guys that what this forum is about right guys?
However you DO sound a bit ANTI-BRP comparing it to whatever quad your holding it against to. Also bear in mind you caused a nice stir about the recalls on the DS650 line in a previous thread. It's natural some of us are going to "bomb"ard you with posts against our brand of choice. You also knocked the machine down without giving it a ride review just on your inspection and observations.
I'm not into utility quads but from the reviews of this machine it has gotten high praise on all points. Nothing was mentioned about the problem your suggesting. However that doesn't mean it may or may not happen. If your seriously considering one wait a year and see what kind of problems or "recalls" that may surface.

You made a lot of points that to me seem completely invalid. What's wrong with the rack being too dark? What is the big deal with gas cap on whatever side? Bombardier has always been innovative and broke a lot of ground with the DS and traxters. When I first bought my DS a lot of people thought the rear grab bar was a dumb idea but when you think about it... it actually makes the DS easier to lift.
C'mon guys we should be praising innovative companies like this to add more selection to our choices.

I came very close to buying a polaris 700, had all the paper work set up. I saw a display at sams, and thought to just try it out. I had ridden a new 700 that day, and when I rode the Bombardier it was like night and day. It felt much more comfortable, had much more power, was smoother and just felt "safer" and more manuverable. It cost more than the 700 by 2000, but there just was no real comparison between the two, and I had heard a lot of stories about the polaris 800 melting down, which put it out of the running. There is now a Bombardier 800 sitting in my garage.

I have recently bought a outlander 800 and have 4 hours and 71 miles under my belt.So far the seat seams very comfortable, handlng is not bad.The power is fantastic can not say enough.I owned a 500 Vincent before this new quad and put 5,000 miles on it. I loved it but ihis quad puts it and all others to shame. As for the money I agree with some that say if you want the most power and comfort you will need to pay the price.

OK people, Paster may have a valid point here. I looked one over at the dealer here and I thought the very same thing. Here is my 2 cents.
1. The frame is just a skinny rail running down the middle and looks like it will break in half after riding for awhile.
2. The seat padding is way too soft.
3. The engine looks like it is 1 inch too wide and is mounted backwards on the frame.
4. The gas cap should have been placed on the left instead of the right, big mistake.
5. The racks are painted black, but the color is too dark.
6. I didn't hear the engine run, but I can tell by looking at the muffler that it will be way too loud for hunting.
Overall I think they tried to copy the Polaris 800 and KQ700 and blew it. I'm pretty much an atv expert so you can take all this as fact.

I was thinking the same thing. I then thought his post was just poking fun at Pastor, but I'm not really sure now if he was actually being serious.

Hmmmm, lets see now. Someone who does not own a Bomb comes over to a Bomb forum and trys to tell every one how bad it is..
Now... why would someone do that
1.) ATV envy.. probably has other forms of male envy, but that's not a point for here.
2.) Owns a dealership selling the type of ATV he is touting, and can't move his stock.
3.) Is a glutton for punishment, and has a t'shirt that his parents bought him which says "Sticks and Stones will break my Bones, but whips and chains excite me"
4.) Is 12 years old, doesn't even own an ATV, and just has a great need for attention, because his parents left home, and did not leave a forwarding address
5.) Does own an ATV, but never wore a helmet, and is showing the results of his head injury.
6.) Just gets off on disturbing "s**t" because his tv set is broken, and can't watch west wing or roseanne any more.
7.) He's been kicked off the forum that represents his choiceof atv's because he's to much of an embarassment for those who just like to ride.
8.) Nobody wants to play in his sandbox, because not only the cats use it for kitty litter.
Actually there is one thing that I do believe that Bombardier should have put on the Outlander 800... a wheelie bar on the back to keep the power from fliping it over.
Probably win a lot more races that way, instead of losing time keeping the front wheels on the ground. Other than that...
Frankly, the best way to deal with obnoxious children, is to simply ignore them, as it's negative attention that they need to survive.
