Default New Outlander lacks in a few areas...

After participating in many of Pastors threads, it seems he has taken a turn towards BRP. He begins by ripping on BRP on things that offer better performance than the competition. Now he's thinking of buying one.

It looks as though our internet beatings we've been giving him has him actually thinking of buying one now.

As someone said earlier, we're just playing nice now, just don't pi$$ us off.

To Quote

Overall I think they tried to copy the Polaris 800 and KQ700 and blew it. I'm pretty much an atv expert so you can take all this as fact.

This is a true point... note that the Bombardier does not melt down into a puddle of plastic, and has way more power the KQ's or the Polaris 800. so if they
were trying to copy those two machines... they did not do the job right.. So.. they blew creating a second class atv.. thank you Bombadier for being so very
incapable in copying those ATV's

Well, like a said those opinions are only worth 2 cents. I was actually trying to make a point about what is always the case when something new comes out; especially if it is quite a step ahead of it's competition. That is how people tend to resist the unconventional, and spout out comments formed from nothing more than brief observations. I have read a few posts elsewhere that rivals my sarcastic attempt. Truth be known, I jumped ship a few weeks ago but haven't changed my name yet. My true opinion thus far, based on only the ATV's I have owned in the near past, is that the Outlander 800 nearly handles like the Prairie 650 I had, rides as smooth over terrain as the BF750, and accelerates like my old V-Force, except with a much smooth onset of power. While not really being an ATV expert, I consider this the most versatile machine I've every ridden, and most importantly the one with the greatest fun factor, which to me is what justifies paying so much more than a 400cc class ATV which could really do the work that I said I needed one for!

LEP...I never started by ripping on the Outlander. That is part of the problem...its all perception. As I previously stated...there were some factors that I really liked...and some that had me concerned. Since my original post, some of the guys on this good site have commented about my concerns. I think what bothers me is what I have found on other sites: say something positive OR we come after you. I am considering buying this bike...BUT...I will NOT be getting rid of my Zukis. Their precious. They don't call it King for nothing.

Hey Pastor, you want to know what it's like to take a verbal pounding??? You sould take a look at many of my old posts.....They LOVED me and showed their appreciation in the most creative ways.

It is the internet, some keys and a screen, don't take it personal.

Pastor,

If you are truely looking for a new quad, you might consider some of the advantages (motor and 4X4 capability) of the Outy 800 over what you see as shortcomings such as the disc guards and other front end armor. If you did end up purchasing one, there are about a half a dozen guys in here that have the capability machining you up something.

These types of mods are normal for us that have purchased multiple different quads. We like to tinker, and look at a platform that supports our basic needs. Afterall, there is no one quad that matches everyones needs all the time right from the manufacturer. That's what gives our quad personality, and what drives us to create a better machine for us.

OK, lets really see here what you ACTUALLY said......

>>> Pastor says: Here I am again to tell the truth...I hope you guys will go a little easier on me...i thought I was in the Polaris section for awhile there. i just returned from our local dealer to see what all the excitement is about...not too much. This machine does have a incredible motor. in all fairness to the manufacturer it is a wonder to behold. There are some nice touches that impressed me. What shot it down was the total lack of protection to the hardware in the front end...ecspecially the disk brake sysytem. Anyone who has used their machine to hunt or explore or just have fun with will NOT like this. It is VERY reminiscint of the Brute Force where legions of owners complained of debris and brush accumilating in this area. As one that goes to the canadian border for the real thing..rugged mountains....that won't cut it. I am surprised by this oversight really. Mark my words this will NOT sit well with the critics. Sure its great if you want to ride dunes and flatlands...what about talus, waist high shrubs, vertical rock...and tree stumps? Sorry boys, that is what they have in the ...woods. Last and not least OVER 10,000.00................ In my opinion my K.Q. still reigns.
TextTextTextText>>>>>

Explain the brake problem again? This has sat well with all critics so far, what is your point of reference?

KQ reigns?? Is that why you are considering buying an Outlander now?

Dude, make up your freaking mind, either this quad will cut it or it wont.

Carider67............What can't I change my mind? As I stated..there were some things that turned me off. There were several guys on this site who assured me since that post, that I would have no problem. Even if I did there are some supposed after market add ons. Lighten up...I may own one of these before its over!

ok guys. I'm not trying to backpeddle here, but it does appear that now that we have hit the Pastor from every angle, he is actually considering a BRP purchase.

Things got off to a bad start and there maybe were some misinterpretations in the posts. Maybe some of the posts could have been worded differently. Maybe Pastors intial approach in his posts could have been different.

Either way, he seems to be considering adding an Outtie to his stable.

Not KQ bashing here! Never road one (they newer ones). But i had a guy see my 800 and he told me that he was going to sell his KQ and get the bomb (his bike is 1 month old). he didnt realize it was even out there and was told the ratta at the zuki dealer. He is a backwoods kinda guy that doesnt have internet or really a bomb dealer in our town (the is one, but it sucks). He was glad he ran into me. Do what you want, Ill take my 800 and RUN with it!
