Default 800 Outlander - accident

Yes I was wearing a full face HJC Snell rated motocross helmet. First inspection showed all scratched up and a 4" crack on the back. Looking inside showed a front to back crack and a crack from side to centre pushed in about 1/2". I have always worn a helmet when riding in the mountains but sometimes riding easy trails I have not. I am not a firm believer in wearing a top rated helmet all the time.

A good example of the need to wear a helmet. Spend some time in a rehab ward full of folks with brain injuries and you'll wear one religiously. I use to be sort of lax about wearing it when I was just driving out to check fences or for other chores but spending time around brain injured folks changed my outlook. Even if I'm just going to drive down to check the mailbox the helmet goes on.
