Make sure you wash it in cold water only....You don't want it to shrink...lol

I thought the same thing when I seen the header rusted. My quad is a 03 and it isn't rusted like that, but it does have like a scale on it.

my buddy used to buy WD-40 in bulk and put it in a spray bottle, after he washed his quad, he woudl spray it on the headers and start it up and let it burn off, headpipes always looks great

The Tach has been smashed as well...this bad boy has been worked over pretty good. As far as the pipes, I am looking for a place to have the pipes on my 04 ceramic coated...how much can i expect to pay anyone know off hand?

Teebone, this place does very good work for a reasonable price. Quite a few forum members have had their stuff done here (I havnt gotten around to it yet) they quoted me 75-85 to have it done in either matte black or the standard shiney ceramic.

I have heard of a lot of people having the headers done for about $50 range. I was quoted something closer to $100 by Jet Hot, they even sent me a video and a bunch of other stuff - I have two ATVs with headers that would need coating so it is hard for me to get over the extra cost as it adds up quick doing two sets. As long as the company doing it for $50 does an actual good job, how much different could Jet Hot be? I was impressed with their presentation, but eeek, $200 before I pay for shipping. I wonder what KMS would charge me, I know for a fact they do a lot of Ceramic Coating and the coating they did for Sandaholic looked good last season. I haven't seen it recently though.
