Yeah, Welcome to the forums. You can find all the info you will need from mild to wild. Glad you made an intelligent decision by going with a DS,

Welcome SoCal
I haven't ben, but i here Gorman, Dove Springs, Jaw Bone. That whole area is perty decent ridding. Sam (1badraptor) said if I head up that way he'd show me around the place. Gonna take him up on that offer here one of these days.

If you can head for Glamis the weekend of Jan 15th. Thats where some of the folks on this forum will be that weekend. And you'll not find a better bunch of guys to BS and ride with.

Welcome to the forums, I'm one of your neighbors to the north though I work in the valley every day, sometimes as far west as westlake etc. You ought to consider some paddles for your DS, Gorman is fun (but small) and Cal City I'm not so fond of personally. Since you are way out the 101 you have a good shot to run north on the 101 up to Pismo - might only take you like 1.5 - 2.0 hours. Keep Super Bowl weekend open as well (February 5th I'm told) as a few people are headed out to Dumont for what was one of the least busy (crowd wise) and best riding weekends ever. I'd like to think I'll leave some time Thursday to go out there and come home on Sunday. Both Glamis on Jan 15th and Dumont on Feb. 5th are going to be rockin'.

It all sounds great. I took the quad down the street to check it out and it is way fast. I dont have to tell anyone that. I look forward to Dumont, Glamis and Pismo, it is only 2 hours away. Now all I need to do is learn how to ride this monster!! Dumont over Superbowl sounds interesting, as well as Glamis on Jan 15th. Any recomendations on sand tires?
