oil in rear shock
#2
If I am not mistaken your original post was correct in that (I think) there is gas in the stock rear shock. They can be rebuilt for oil by most shock companies, ie Works, Elka, TCS, Pep, ect. I spoke to Works about the complete rebuild and it was like $350 for the full treatment.

yeah but i already found the infos for the gas, i'd like to know more about the oil. is it just normal fork oil like motocross or is it a special brand, and how much do i pour in it?

I only have two suggestion.
1. Pour the old oil out into a measuring cup and make sure you get all of it. Then put the same amount back in. I'm not a shock rebuilder by any means so I can't suggest a type or brand of oil, which brings me to my second suggestion.
2. Send the shock to Works Performance and let the experts do it. I sent mine to them and for 150.00 they changed the valve case, changed the oil and set it up to my riding style. I am very happy with it.
