My transmission went out on my craptor this is the second time in two years last time I upgraded all the gears because it is a 2001 and now a year later my transmission blew up again and my boys ride it and they only weigh about 125 lbs. Anybody know where I can buy a complete motor the dealer wants $2300.00 to fix the one I got and it is a stock motor ?

 

Did you put 2001 gears back in it the first time? If so, an upgrade to 2002+ gears might be cheaper than a complete motor, the 2001 gears aren't know for their 2nd gear strength. Ebay has complete motors from time to time.

 

Last year when I had them fix the trany they put all new upgraded gears in my trany ay least that is what they told me ?

 

Ebay maybe?

 

I have a 2001 yami 660 motor sitting here. Its going up on ebay next week, unless someone wants to take it. Nothing wrong with it, we just did a motor swap, and its not needed anymore.

Before you invest in a new motor, you might want to have a Raptor expert look at yours. I know it's a lot cheaper than $2300 to upgrade a 2001 transmission, something like $800 in parts for the 02 gears if nothing else is damaged. There are a couple of decent Raptor motor builders around, I've had excellent experience with Craycraft Racing. For the cost of a phone call, you might save yourself a lot of $$.
