Default Value of the DS?

I was rooting around in here and found the NADA blue book link and did a comparison and am finding the DS does not hold it's value like the others. I wonder why this is? They are great machines that are dependable. I know mine is a million peices right now, but I think that had I been riding one of the others, like I ride my pig, I would have had to tear into them a long time ago.
Doing all the research so I can sell mine. Even with the things I have on it, I doubt I would even get $4,000 for it. :-(

The DS is just hard to sell because there are not all that many people that know a lot about them, or like big quads. Nada/KBB show seriously high prices (think it showed my 03 baja for like 4900?) I was thinking about asking 3500 with the extra tires but havnt listed it anywhere yet.

You would be much better off selling the parts seperately rather than on the quad (mostly the shocks and tires/wheels). as you could probably get about 1k or so out of those items, where as the value on the quad is probably only a couple of hundred.

Ya performance modifications are REALLY hard to get your money back on, when sold on a unit (this goes for every motorsport). I havnt seen too many modified DS' on ebay recently, but a little while back there was a nice elka equipped 02 DS with quite a bit of work done that sold for something 3,500? I almost wanted to buy it and strip the parts off and then resell it!

Darn! I sold my stock things already. So I either part it out or sell complete. I sound like a broken record because I said these same things a few months ago. I listed it with an on-line trader for a little more than that one you saw on Ebay.
