Default Decompressor Help

I need to take the decompressor off my cam, but I'm not sure how to do this. I thought all you had to do was knock out the pin, but DuneMe and couldn't get it to budge. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

It took two of us when I did mine. One to hold the cam against a block of wood, the other to use a puch and a hammer. The puch is the key. You want it to be just slightly smaller than the pin and it needs a flat end, not a point. Mine still took some coaxing but eventually came out.

The method I would highly not recommend would be Scatterbrain's approach!

Tip: Wrap the cam in a small hand towel and tape around it with duct tape. You DONT want to harm the lobes or worse drop it! Even do that with your new ones. Take the time to insure you dont have a costly OOOPS.

If your finding that its screwing up the dowel (making it fat in the hole) STOP and just drop it off at a machine shop, they may just do it for free while your working so its no time setback.

Based on the risks I took, Bajax04 offers sound advice IMHO.
